ABOUT JILLISSA COOPER, M.A., LPC
Jillissa Cooper, is a graduate of Dallas Baptist University, where she completed a bachelor’s degree with dual concentration in Biblical Studies and Psychology. Following her undergraduate studies, Jillissa completed a Master’s degree in Biblical Counseling at at Dallas Theological Seminary. Her passion for healing and family dynamics lead her to complete additional studies at the Focus on the Family Institute, where she delved deeper into the intricacies of marriage and family relational issues.
With more than a decade of experience as a counselor and therapist she made the decision to establish her own practice, Jillissa Cooper Counseling PLLC, in the summer of 2024. The goal of this was to offer her clients a convenient and streamlined access to counseling that meets people where they are, while offering an approach that embraces the pursuit of healing and truth.
Jillissa’s passion for counseling is palpable, and is based on the genuine joy she derives from helping her clients find hope, healing and clarity. Her therapeutic ethos revolves around the harmonious fusion of Christian principles and proven psychological insights. Drawing from a diverse array of methodologies including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems Theory, and psychoeducation, she orchestrates transformative journeys aimed at finding a place of genuine health and well-being.
Beyond her interest in relational dynamics, trauma recovery and marriage counseling, she has established an expertise in addressing Adjustment and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorders stemming from injury, and has also been sought out as expert witness in civil litigation.
Hailing from the heart of Texas, Jillissa has lived and worked in the DFW community for over a decade. Residing in Carrollton, Jillissa lives with her Aussie husband, Ben, and Aspen, their English Springer Spaniel. She enjoys painting, singing and playing the piano, and is an avid fan of all things gastronomic!
